MEDITERRANEAN
Warm, dry and fragrant are used to describe the terra-cotta and tiled look and feel of a Mediterranean garden. Often including an outside eating area and/or central fountain, Mediterranean gardens many of the following plants; Grape, Olive, Sunflowers, Italian Cypress, and Artemisia.
CONTEMPORARY
By definition, a modern style which embodies strong lines, bold patterns, and repetition of design elements. Some design elements often found are; clipped hedges, pillars or columns, formal lawns and garden walls. Plants often associated with this style are; Begonias, Sage, Sweet Alyssum, and Giant Dracaena.
COTTAGE (ENGLISH COTTAGE)
One of the keys to Cottage gardens is that they look like they have grown naturally. Their look is casual and they are typically very fragrant. Picked or post-and-rail fences as well as trellises are typical design elements of a Cottage garden. Honeysuckles, Sweet Pea, Foxglove, Calendula, and Delphinium are typical plants associated with Cottage gardens.
NATIVE
Displaying a wealth of native regional plants, the Natural garden is truly "alive" with butterflies, birds, and bees. Natural gardens are unique in that they tend to reflect the plants of the region in which they are designed. Design elements often showcased by Natural gardens are; natural habitats and ecosystems such as streams or meadows, ornamental grasses, wildflowers, and logs or tree stumps.
TROPICAL
Bold, colorful and lush softscapes define Tropical gardens. Plants typically found in Tropical gardens include; Palm Trees, Ferns, Banana, Jasmine, Vines, and Tropical Hibiscus.
ASIAN
Evoking the peace and serenity of the natural world, Asian style gardens utilize water, stone and tailored green shrubs and trees with flowers and foliage colors being used sparingly. Plants often associated with this style are; Japanese Maples, Bamboo, Magnolia, Pines and Ferns.
